SMS Commands

Control wxtxt straight from your sms thread — no app, no login. Especially handy at sea on a satellite messenger. Just reply with any of these keywords. Not case-sensitive.

FEEDOFF
Pause your forecast texts. You stay subscribed; the messages just stop until you turn them back on.
FEEDON
Resume your forecast texts after a pause.
AREA <forecast area keywords> or<place name>
Switch which marine area you get forecasts for, by name. If several areas match, you'll get a short numbered list to choose from.
Examples:
AREA Johnstone,AREA race rocks,AREA Sointula

drop a pin 

A dropped map pin setting the Strait of Georgia marine area
Send a pin from Apple Maps or Google Maps, or share your location via SMS. Great for matching the forecast to exactly where you are — wxtxt sets the marine area nearest to it.
LATEST
Resend the most recent forecast for your area, on demand.
RENEWON
Turn on auto-renew so your feed continues uninterrupted — $10 every 30 days.
RENEWOFF
Turn off auto-renew. You keep the rest of the time you've already paid for; it just won't renew automatically.
HELP
Get a quick list of commands back by text.
STOP
Unsubscribe from all wxtxt texts. Note: this also blocks login codes, so text START first if you ever need to sign in again.
START
Re-subscribe after a STOP and start receiving texts again.
